USBTV? I know you guys are thinking about USB TV tuners. Well, Sandisk is not going to make USB TV tuners but has developed a unique way to offer video from your PC to your TV in an economical way via a USB thumbdrive. The dongle comprises abundant flash memory, a DRM-enabled video decoder and a video line-out.
Well, the Sandisk USBTV utilizes the old concept of copying files to the dongle and then transferring them to TV. The concept is indeed not awe-inspiring but one thing is for sure that Sandisk will definitely make its way to large number of homes, thanks to the cost effectiveness as they say.
Sandisk will invite select users to test the product later this week and will also distribute free USBTV to a few.
